In Stepanakert the most important thing is finding honest hosts who won't cheat you at checkout or steal your belongings. This frequently happens to travelers. R&K is run by honest and friendly people, and staying with them doesn't feel like falling victim to a business scheme. Also, this is the best place to meet other travelers and to do so in an environment that is safe and congenial. Guests shouldn't expect hotel standards of comfort -- the facilities are on the minimalist side -- but the location a block away from the bus station and close to the main attractions is better than what any hotel can offer the budget traveler.
