St. Astvatsatsinand St. Gregory Churchee

Saint Astvatsatsin Church, builtin the 5th century, and Saint Gevorg Church, built in the 7th century, are located close to Artik’s central square. St. Gevorg is the larger of the two churches and had previously been used as a storehouse in Soviet times. The first attempt to restore the church was made in the early 1990s. Both churches are partially in ruins, with restoration interrupted by the collapse of the USSR. Since 2006, a fund-raising campaign is ongoing to reconstruct the St. Gevorg Church.
