Surb Astvatsatsin Church

In 1696 the villagers of Yeghvard return to their home village from Persia (Iran) where they moved in 1500's by Shah Abas, king of Persia. After return they start to build the church and complete in 1700. This church was popular for villagers as it has secret rooms (dhidden floor under roof) where villagers hided when Turkish soldiers try to kill them all. During 1992-94 Karabagh war many building in the village were destroyed but non of Azeri's bombs come to the church which is in the center of the village and the greatest building visible from Azerbaidjan territory. This made a new soul for villagers to beleive in power of their church. In 2011 the church was reconstructed by volunteers from France and Armenia.
